Kimmel Carter Holds Office Cinco de Mayo Party

Thanks to beautiful weather, plenty of food and good company, the whole Kimmel Carter team had a great time at the firm’s Cinco de Mayo party on Monday.

Despite a little wind, the sunny first floor courtyard at Kimmel Carter’s main office at 56 West Main St. in Newark turned out to be a perfect spot for the occasion.

Spanish for the fifth of May, Cinco De Mayo commemorates Mexico’s victory over the French in the Battle of the Puebla on May 5, 1862. The holiday is celebrated primarily in the United States and throughout Mexico, especially in the Puebla region.

While everyone joked that the office party was technically a “cuatro de Mayo” celebration, there was no shortage of authentic Mexican food and music to mark the holiday on the 5th. Newark Mexican restaurant Morelia catered the event, bringing delicious chicken and steak fajitas, nachos and even honey-covered tortilla chips for dessert.

After everyone had spent time chatting, mingling, and, of course, eating, the party wrapped up with the Kimmel Carter staff members trying their luck with a piñata and another game that ended in a variety of prizes.

All in all, it was a fun-filled, relaxing afternoon, and a great way to kick off the work week.
