Kimmel Carter Proudly Supports Injured Workers

Kimmel Carter proudly supports the mission of Jason Schechterle, a retired Phoenix Police Officer who was injured in the line of duty. He runs a foundation called “Beyond The Flames” to assist people in overcoming life changing adversity through inspirational, motivational and financial assistance.

Kimmel Carter joined Mr. Schechterle at the 2014 Convention of the Workers’ Injury Law & Advocacy Group (WILG) to promote his book, Burning Shield. Burning Shield is the story of Mr. Schechterle’s injury when his Crown Victoria Police Cruiser burst into flames due to a rear-end collision from a taxi at over 100 MPH. A combination of factors led to his escaping the blaze alive, but seriously burned. Burning Shield follows Mr. Schechterle as he recovers from his injury with the goal of being able to rejoin the police force, backdropped by the subsequent investigation into the speeding taxi driver as well as why his Crown Victoria burst into flames.
